An extensive sandy beach close to the town of Ballybunion. The area is within a proposed natural heritage site, River Cashen Estuary proposed Natural Heritage Area (pNHA). This has an extensive dune system. The beach is also part of the Lower River Shannon Special Area of Conservation (SAC).

Ballybunion is located in north western Kerry, and is accessible via the R551 from Tralee.The beach is located minutes walk from the town and is lifeguarded during the bathing season. Lifeguard times can be viewed by clicking on the tab above or by checking out the information notice board at the beach.
