This is an extensive sandy beach in Derrynane Bay. The beach is situated in a proposed Natural Heritage Area site. It is also part of the Kenmare River SAC and the Iveragh Peninsula SPA. The area is rich in biodiversity and of significant national importance.

The village of Caherdaniel is located two miles to the north west of the beach and is on the Ring of Kerry. Derrynane is located southwest of Killarney and is accessible via the N70.

This beach is lifeguarded during the bathing season. Lifeguard times can be viewed by clicking on the tab above or by checking out the information noticeboard at the beach.
