This small sandy beach, located on Achill Island, is within a Special Area of Conservation (SAC). Dugort is a semi exposed shore with a sandy substrate, rocks and pebbles are deposited on the upper shore at times of spring tide. The low-lying flat grassland or machair which is also present here is of particular interest and is rich in flora and fauna. The beach is located approx. 3km east of Dugort village.

The beach is lifeguard patrolled during the bathing season. Lifeguard times can be viewed by clicking on the tab above or by checking out the information notice board at the beach.
