Keem Beach is located in a perfect horseshoe bay at the head of a valley between the cliffs of Benmore to the west and Croaghaun mountain on the east on Achill Island. Keem is a small, sandy, rural beach, sheltered by cliffs, which support a rich amount of plants and animals. The beach has access ramps for the disabled but does not have disabled toilet facilities.

The beach is well signposted and is located 10km west of Keel village and past the village of Dooagh.

The beach is lifeguard patrolled during the bathing season. Lifeguard times can be viewed by clicking on the tab above or by checking out the information notice board at the beach. There are lifebuoys and torpedo buoys available on the beach.
